Qatar University (QU) has welcomed a delegation of students taking part in the Oman Royal Navy ‘Shabab Oman II’ golf trip, which coincides with Oman’s National Day. The trip takes place as part of Oman’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai under the title “Oman, a New Approach”. The ship is scheduled to visit all GCC countries over the course of a month.
The cruise will be attended by students representing a number of European and golf universities. The delegation was chaired by QU President Dr. Hassan bin Rashid al-Derham, Vice President Dr. Khaled al-Khater (Administration and Finance), Dr. Eman Mostafawi (Student Affairs), Assistant Vice President for Student Life and Services Dr Abdullah al-Mulla, Department Head, and a number of members of the university community. The QU campus was the delegation’s first planned stop after leaving Hamad Port. The visitors were taken on a tour of the campus.
Dr. Mostafawi welcomed them and assured QU’s zeal to strengthen relationships and collaborations with international educational institutions and to support young people at local, regional and international levels. The Embassy of Oman also invited a group of QU students to visit the ship in the port of Hamad to learn about the various programs for young people in the fields of sailing, astronomy and teamwork, and to inform them of the results of this trip .
