The chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Vasif Talibov, met with a delegation led by the Turkish Deputy Defense Minister Muhsin Dere, reports AZERTAC.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly, Vasif Talibov, highlighted the military cooperation between the countries. Emphasizing the importance of the army-building work and military exercises being carried out between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Turkey. Vasif Talibov said that Nakhchivan’s defense security was guaranteed. He also referred to Turkey’s political support during the Second Karabakh War.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly said the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations established by national leaders Heydar Aliyev and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk have been successfully continued by the presidents and the strategic partnership is at a high level. The Chairman also stressed the importance of the Kars Agreement and the Shusha Declaration.

Turkish Deputy Defense Minister Muhsin Dere congratulated the historic victory in the Patriotic War and paid tribute to the memory of Shehids (martyrs). He emphasized the importance of the work done in the field of army building as part of the relations between the countries and highlighted the importance of the strategic and geographical location of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The sides exchanged views on further perspectives for cooperation.
